BAPTISM
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20
Baptism is a believer's public
demonstration of their identification with Christ and His church.

Baptism is not salvation. Rather, baptism is the public proclamation of salvation.
A public confession of one's personal
repentance of sin and belief in the gospel, Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

Much like a wedding band is not one's covenant relationship with their spouse, but rather an outward demonstration of their marriage, so baptism is not one's covenant relationship with God, but rather an outward demonstration of their redemption.

Why should you be baptized?
This is a great question, and it is one that the Scriptures provide a clear answer.

First, the believer should be baptized in order to follow the example of Christ (Matthew 3:13-17). And secondly, the believer should be baptized in order to obey the command of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20).
